The Shaishav Team

The programmes Shaishav has initiated are run by a diverse team of 30 full-time and part-time members, trainees and fellows. Most of the team members are from similar socio-economic backgrounds as the children they work with; some are from Dalit communities, some live in Kumbharwada. Many have experienced caste and gender discrimination. This facilitates their first-hand understanding of social issues and identification with the issues the children face and brings a deeper commitment to their work. The team members have different educational backgrounds like commerce and arts graduates, bachelors of education, masters of social work, masters in rural studies etc. A few have come to the team with some years of experience, for others it is their first job.
